Waxahatchee’s Katie Crutchfield is pretty stoked we’re in June and the sun’s all hot and our skin’s sticky and lemonade’s about as hot a commodity as $10,000. At least, that’s what we gather from her new video for Cerulean Salt single “Coast to Coast”. Directed by Ryan Russell and edited by former Look Mexico drummer Josh Mikel, the clip comes pretty straightforward: a lazy summer day by the lake . Alongside her sister Alison, Katie, another pal, and her dog Scout go for a good ol’ American sing ‘n’ swim in Alabama’s, wait for it, Waxahatchee Creek! It’s a damn shame Chicago’s Lake Michigan coastline is such a frozen cesspool of bacteria and death; otherwise, I’d follow suit later this afternoon. Bollocks.
Cerulean Salt, Waxhatchee’s pretty durn good sophomore album, is out now via Don Giovanni. A UK release is set for July 1st via Wichita.
